G35 oil leaks
Nice quality control from Infiniti. That right, at about 70k, a lot of G35 owners are discovering that their #6 spark plug gasket is leaking oil onto the spark plugs. This isn't really a huge issue, UNLESS you are out of warranty. Why? It's just a stupid spark plug gasket. Who the fuck cares.
Well, if you're on a budget, you should care. Because Infiniti doesn't sell just the 6 gaskets you need to replace, you have to BUY AN ENTIRE VALVE COVER KIT!
That will cost you over $700 including labor. Some members were quoted over 1k. So, if your G has close to 70k and you're still in the warranty period, you better check your seals before it's too late.
Interesting how the SAME valve cover on a Nissan Maxima is only $35, while the G35 Cover is $180. Yet BOTH vehicles share the same crappy VQ35DE motor!

I hate my car too (2003 6mt)..... interior sucks, the paint on the middle console is shipping off. The brown leather looks like its for 70 year olds. Its a real pain in the ass to check the oil. I cant even think of the reason why nissan designed it as they did. And with 287hp, i get 16mpg... wtf...
true but you should have known better.. you never buy the car the first year it comes out as there are tons of issues that will be resolved with each model there after... for ex. I own an 06 coupe and it's a lot more refined than the 03, but the problems in my car are now resolved in the newer g37 which I have to say though I do not like the exterior styling in the g37s as much as the 05-07 g35 coupes.
^ what he said
The first year it came out? WTF are you talking about Anonymous...the Skyline has been in production for over 40 years. These kind of problems shouldn't have existed on any year of the G35.
