G35 poor tread life - 10-12k??

It has been well documented that the Nissan 350z has had issues with it's suspension causing very poor tread life. Nissan has finally recognized this problem and is in the process of issuing a recall.

The result of a class action lawsuit against Nissan.

Have you experienced abnormal tire wear on your Nissan 350z? Do your tires show signs of feathering or cupping? Have you had one or more sets of tires replaced on your 350z? Are you suffering from excessive tire noise? You are not alone. Message boards are filled with 1000's of posts from 350z owners across the country reporting problems with their tires. In some cases, consumers are reportedly going through three sets of tires within 12,000 - 14,000 miles!
------------------------------------------------------------

Sadly, Infiniti refuses to acknowledge that these problems exist with the G35 coupe and maybe even the sedan. (They also fail to recognize that the newer 05-07 models with the rev-up motor also have oil consumption issues. Infiniti failed to upgrade their pistons/rings when they increased the rev limit on the newer models). That was smart. I guess they don't have an R&D/Quality Control department?

Reminds me of a Mickey Mouse mechanic who just slap on a bunch of crap and pray that it works.

The link above indicates that a tread life of just about 12-14k is not acceptable, hence the "class action suite " against Nissan. Hopefully more people will recognize this issue and file a complaint here: http://www.nissantireproblems.com/infiniti-g35-tire-wear.html

There's a couple of hardcore G35 owners who won't admit that the G35 has several mechanical and other problem. And they will say anything to "protect" the name of the G. Sadly, they are delusional.

An M3 has a documented tread life of 40+k. And an M3 is a real sports car. Unlike the G35. Which is all looks and sadly lacks everything else.

Here's another review:
G35 epinion review

Watch out for tire wear issues, brakes, automatic close windows falling out of adjustment. CD player was very slow in switching CD's. From reading forums on Infiniti's, I believe there are some very, very good dealerships, and very, very bad dealerships, that will hurt Infiniti in the end. While their automobiles are now much more exciting than years ago they had better work on their dealer network consistency and customer care. I already have 2 individuals who have decided to avoid Infiniti due to my experience.

Cons: tire wear, brake wear, maintenance $$$, very poor service experience

Supercharged G35 loses to a stock STI

STI:
* 2.5-liter DOHC intercooled, turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine
* 293-hp
* 290 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm
* 3298 lb (Curb weight)

G35:
* 3.5L V6
* 298 HP
* 260 lb-ft of torque
* 3400 lb (Curb weight)
+ Stillen Supercharger brings the HP/Torque to:
* STAGE 2 - 390 hp / 360 lbs/ft Flywheel
* STAGE 3 - 410 hp / 380 lbs/ft Flywheel

Stock for stock, the HP of both cars are similar with the G having a +5hp edge over the STI. While the STI has a +30 lb-ft of torque edge, proving the G is a torque-less wonder.

Even with the "Supercharger" upgrade, giving the G an edge in total HP/Tq, the G35 still loss. Again, proving my point that "modding" a G for speed, is a waste of time & money. The G weighs to much to do anything worthy in the track. Yes, it "may" beat a stock Civic, but that's about it. The post below shows a "modded" Civic destroying the G35.

And to make matters worse, the G sounded like it's crying, as to tell the owner to stop trying to race it. Put some 20's on the car and just gangsta park it in the parking lot. Then pay some Hooter chicks to pose next to it, and post it online saying "at least the G gets the girl. It's the only thing the G is good for.

Again, this is a supercharged G35, imagine how bad the G would have lost against the STI stock for stock. Seeing "stock for stock" they are about even in HP. Unless Infiniti overstated it's HP to attract buyers. HP w/o torque = shit.

G35 Ricer of the Week 10/07/07

This car here just screams out rice. Again, the G35 is one of the nicest looking car out there at it's price range. Having someone mutilate the G to that monster above is just sad.

* M3 style gills (because he can't afford a real M3)
* Lamborghini style doors (because he can't afford to get a real Lamborghini)
* Transformer style 2-tone paint scheme (only the fast cars have it)
* Color matched 2-tone interior (because you can't see the exterior paint while driving)

G35 Coupe - Can't recirculate air w/o having the A/C on

Wow. Just when you thought your brand new car couldn't have any more issues, you find another one while driving behind a bus.

So you're behind a bus, which is smoking out bad exhaust fumes. You're in your car and you hit the "recirculate" button and the A/C turns on. You then turn the A/C off and the car automatically switches back to fresh air mode. Again, allowing the horrible exhaust stench to enter you car.

One of the sadder moments, another member in one of the G35 forums knew this was a problem. Instead of being honest and accepting the fact that we cannot recirculate the cabin air w/o having the A/C on, he "photochopped" an image to "prove" that his car wasn't defective. "How low can you go". That's pretty damn low if you ask me.

The G35, has another problem added to the list.
